“Over the last two years, I have heard from residents who feel City Hall has stopped listening,” said Fischer. “They want growth that makes sense, infrastructure that keeps up, and a Council that treats public input as more than a box to check. I am proud to join Delta First because I believe this team is serious about putting residents back at the centre of local decision-making.”
Fischer said his campaign will focus on responsible development, stronger public engagement, transparency and accountability at City Hall, and protecting the quality of life that makes Delta special.
“When I was told two years ago to give up, that I was wasting my time, and that there was no solution for ordinary residents, I refused,” said Fischer. “I worked tirelessly to be a voice for those who felt ignored, and if elected, I will never stop fighting for Delta and the people who live and work here.”

Delta First Announces Alex Fischer as council candidate
Delta First is proud to announce that Alex Fischer will be joining the team as a candidate for Delta City Council in the 2026 municipal election.
A proven community advocate and organizer, Fischer has spent the last two years working with residents on issues related to responsible development, Delta’s Official Community Plan, infrastructure, transparency, and local decision-making.
As the founder of Delta Voices, Fischer has helped bring residents together at their doors, in their living rooms, in community centres, on the street, and online. His advocacy has included speaking at the OCP public hearing, organizing public engagement efforts, supporting letter-writing campaigns and petitions, and helping bring hundreds of residents together at the South Delta Recreation Centre.
“Alex understands the importance of listening to residents and making decisions that reflect the priorities of our community,” said Melissa Granum, Delta First mayoral candidate. “He has already shown that he is willing to put in the work, stand up for residents, and bring people together to help shape Delta’s future.”
